Colin Edward Murray
Colin Edward Murray has a diverse painting style. His signature paintings take an old master portrait approach to representing Rastafari culture and history. Colin is also comfortable with abstract, abstract portraits, and cityscapes. His preferred medium has always been oil on canvas or board, however he also enjoys expressing himself using watercolour, acrylic, and digital media.
Colin was born in Hamilton, On, Canada in 1979. A proud Hamiltonian, he believes growing up in a hard working, middle class environment helped shape his work ethic. An elementary teacher since 2005, Colin loves sharing his knowledge of art with his students.
Among Colin's most joyous accomplishments was having his portrait of Peter Tosh admitted to the Peter Tosh Museum in New Kingston, Jamaica in 2016.
